There is hereby created in and for the City a Housing Authority pursuant to the municipal housing law, as amended, to be known as “The Bonner Springs Housing Authority.”

The Housing Authority shall consist of the Governing Body of the City.

The Housing Authority shall have all powers conferred on the City by the municipal housing law of the State, and the powers to execute contracts with an agency of the government, borrow money, issue bonds (as defined in the municipal housing law) and acquire or dispose of real property.

The Housing Authority shall have the power to plan, construct, maintain, operate and manage any low‑rent housing project or projects in the City.

The City Manager is hereby authorized to appoint an Executive Director, technical experts and such other officers, agents and employees, permanent and temporary, as the authority may require, and to delegate to one or more of them such powers or duties as the authority may deem proper.
