A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF BONNER SPRINGS, KANSAS FROM THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12‑1915 AND PROVIDING FOR THE MEMBERSHIP APPOINTMENT AND TERMS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMISSION.
Section 1. The City of Bonner Springs, Kansas by the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to exempt itself from the provisions of K.S.A. 12‑1915. That statute is applicable to this City but is not applicable uniformly to all cities in the State of Kansas.
Section 2. There is hereby created a Park and Recreation Advisory Commission of the City of Bonner Springs, Kansas.
Section 3. The Park and Recreation Advisory Commission shall consist of seven (7) members who shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Governing Body of the City.
Section 4. Each member of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission shall serve a term of three years. The term of two members of the said commission shall expire in December of 1984; the terms of two members shall expire in December 1985; and the terms of three members shall expire in 1986. Thereafter each member appointed shall serve for a term of three years.
Section 5. Whenever a vacancy shall occur in the membership of said commission, the said vacancy shall be filed as provided above for the appointment of members for the unexpired term of the member he or she is succeeding.
